The Others

The forces of evil are not exclusive to the supernatural beings that inhabit the World of Darkness. Mere mortals can also taste of the power of darkness, and the Devil is always looking for new recruits for His army.

Some mortals turn to darkness through sorcery. Following paths of Linear (Hedge) Magic, they seek out the Devil to bargain with him. The Devil never fails to listen.

Others have no choice in their destiny. Banes possess some humans, granting them the powers of the Wyrm, but destroying their human lives in the process. The Wyrm seeks to spread its corruption far and wide, and humanity is but a tool to be used and discarded. If a possessed human, a Fomor, manages to survive long enough, he might actually be given some actual power over his existence. Such Fomori are rare though. The violence of the Wyrm's ways brings a quick, gory death to most. In the Far East these Fomori are known as Bakemono.
